Can you help improve support for carers in North Tyneside?

Based on feedback we received from carers last year, the Carers’ Partnership Board needs your help to improve the experiences and support for carers.

We are committed to co-producing improvements with people who have experience of being a carer.

Initially we are focusing on the following areas carers highlighted as key priorities:

  • Improving Information about advice and support for carers

  • Approaches to short breaks and respite care for people caring for an adult – with North Tyneside Council’s Adult Social Care team

  • Carer’s needs assessment for people caring for an adult – with North Tyneside Council’s Adult Social Care team

  • Training for health and care staff in how to support friends and family members providing unpaid care.

If you are interested in getting involved in working with other carers and health and care service staff and managers to review how things work now and develop improvements, please complete the short survey and which areas you are interested in here: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/CPBInvolve1/

Alternatively, contact Healthwatch for more information by emailing info@hwnt.co.uk or calling 0191 2635321.

Each project is likely to involve several meetings and if you get involved in any of these projects you will receive a £25 voucher as a thank you for attending each session.
