Report of views and experiences gathered through surveys, focus groups, outreach and engagement work and social media

Mental health

This report considered the views of 272 service users in 2016.

The key issues people told us about were:

  • accessing services
  • leaving services – especially support for people in a crisis, which we chose to investigate further in our 2018 research project.

Many of the key recommendations from this 2016 report are echoed in our more recent research and we will challenge the service providers and commissioners to make real changes.

Contents:

  • Mental health services nationally and in North Tyneside
  • What makes a good mental health service
  • What people told us
  • Entering services
  • Receiving services
  • Leaving services
  • Recommendations to commissioners and providers
  • What next

Responses from Cumbria Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Trust and North Tyneside Clinical Commissioning Group are attached as appendices to this report.
