KOSMOS North Tyneside 2017 is a participatory arts project asking, ‘Where do you get your support from?’ led by Launchpad North Tyneside and supported by Healthwatch North Tyneside
“We all have different knowledge, some about providing services, some about receiving them, we can learn from each other”
Bringing mental health service users, service providers and decision makers together to talk to each other and understand each other’s experiences was at the heart of the Kosmos project.
We funded Launchpad North Tyneside and local artist, Helen Smith, to work creatively with services users and commissioners to investigate key issues that service users had identified as important ‘black holes’ in services. The issues focused on were GP surgeries and ‘support whilst waiting for support to start’. All participants made commitments and pledges about what they would do as a result of these conversations.
This work built on previous Kosmos Conversations in 2017 when five key issues were identified. We also funded a publication summarising the Kosmos approach and the pledges people and organisations made which you can download below.
