Healthwatch is supporting North Tyneside Health and Wellbeing Board – which comprises the local authority, the NHS and other key partners – with the preparation of a new Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA).
The PNA helps healthcare commissioners to manage pharmaceutical services across the borough to ensure they meet the needs of residents.
This includes making decisions about requests to set up new community pharmacies or move premises, as well as identify where improvements to services can be made. The Health and Wellbeing Board has a statutory duty to publish a PNA every three years.
