A busy year for Healthwatch North Tyneside
It has been a busy time for Healthwatch North Tyneside, publishing a number reports this week about our work over the last 12 months and our work on pharmacy services.
Our Annual Report has been published and shared with Healthwatch England. The report details our work over the last 12 months and the impact we have made.

Chair, Julia Charlton said in the report:
“Listening to people’s views is core to our work, and we continue to look at new ways of reaching people, from working with partners to reach as many people as possible in our community, to continuing our successful online communications.
“In the last year we have heard from 2,441 residents, and we reached more people with online surveys than ever before.”
We’ve also published our six-monthly Insights Report, providing a summary of what people have told us over the last six months, and the key findings from our recent engagement activities about dentistry, pharmacy and young carers. The report has been shared with North Tyneside’s Health and Wellbeing Board.
Our plans for the next three years were recently set out in our Strategic Plan. It lays out our five key themes including providing information, focusing on key issues, understanding people’s views and experiences, influencing, and being a robust organisation.

Most recently we have published two new reports about pharmacy services in North Tyneside. Firstly, we were asked by North Tyneside’s Health and Wellbeing Board to gather evidence of experiences of pharmacy services to inform the review of the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment. Secondly, we produced our own report based on what people had told us about pharmacy services over the last two years and made recommendations on how to improve services.
