What We Heard reports

From April to September 2023 we have engaged with 1010 people at 39 community events across the borough. 658 people have shared their experiences with us at engagement events, through our surveys, or by phone and email, helping us to raise issues and improve care. 142 instances of signposting took place, directing to 76 different organisations and our feedback centre received 74 reviews of specific health and care services. This feedback enables us to:

  • Provide direct feedback to individual services, showing what residents and services users have said about their service and other similar services
  • Share trends and analysis with key decision makers, including the NHS, Social care commissioners and North Tyneside’s Health and Wellbeing board, to highlight residents issues
  • Highlight possible solutions to problems based on what we have heard from local people
  • Identify key issues to focus our work programme for the following year.

As well as a summary of our current and future research projects, this report includes key themes and issues in what local people have told us about:

  • GPs
  • Medications and prescriptions
  • Dentistry
  • Travel and patient transport
  • Hospitals, including urgent and emergency care
  • Mental health services
  • Social care
