If you are a carer and want to talk through any support needs you have, or needs you feel the person you care for may have, contact North Tyneside Council’s Gateway Team on 0191 643 2777 (or 0330 333 7475 outside of office hours.) You can email the team at childrenandadultscontactcentre@northtyneside.gov.uk
Carers can also discuss their support needs with:
- North Tyneside Carers’ Centre provide information, advice, support and guidance for carers and young carers. They also offer help with employment, advocacy and mental health. Phone 0191 249 6480
- Age UK North Tyneside provides services for people aged 50+, including help for people living with dementia, and support for carers. Phone 0191 280 8484 or email enquiries@ageuknorthtyne side.org.uk
- The NHS website lists useful social care telephone helplines and forums.
