In August 2019 we spoke to 19 people who had experiences of stroke support services. Using the information from people who had experienced stroke, carers and family, we produced this issues paper which highlights the following areas of improvement:

  • Communications and the need for all service providers to be aware of non-verbal communications needs.
  • The provision of person centered follow up support.
  • Mental health and emotional support for the individual experiencing stroke and their famil and carers.
  • Access to social activities – better information about what’s available and transport provision to activities.
